Aaron’s Wish Story

Aaron, 12, Astoria
Wish:
to go to WrestleMania

Aaron’s ultimate wish became a reality at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania in April. The 12-year-old from Astoria wished to go to WrestleMania because he loves everything about WWE, especially his favorite wrestler, John Cena. Aaron has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which qualified him for a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon.

As the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania approached, Aaron, his parents, and sister Glori prepared for the trip of a lifetime. While attending WrestleMania, WWE provided activities for Aaron and other wish kids from across the U.S. including special autograph sessions, access to private parties, and a tour of the Houston Zoo with WWE Superstars!  Aaron was also inducted into the WWE/Make-A-Wish® Circle of Champions at a private party, receiving a commemorative framed certificate and T-shirt from John Cena.

“It was great,” said Tammi, Aaron’s mom. “All the activities really got the kids pumped up for Sunday.”

Tammi said that Aaron became nervous when he first saw all the wrestlers, but got the hang of the overwhelming atmosphere as he experienced more interaction with them.  After warming up, he told her, “Mom, I’m so excited!”

During WrestleMania night, Aaron and other wish kids watched as their favorite stars battled each other. Too busy cheering for their favorite wrestlers, many of the children lost their voices in all of the excitement.

Aaron proudly took home 11 autographs from various WWE Superstars and Divas that will always remind him of his wish-come-true.
