Wish: to have a log cabin playhouse

Chad, age 10, of Vancouver, Washington, wished to have an escape from the seriousness of multiple open-heart surgeries. A fan of the television show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Chad wanted a place of his own, where he could hang out and have sleepovers with his friends. He wished to have a log cabin playhouse.

In October of 2006, Chad’s wish came true. With the help of Woodwinds Log Homes, Chad received a custom 10’ x12’ log cabin, complete with a loft and a sign that reads “Chad’s Place.” It was all that he had wished for. And more.

“It’s become his home,” said Chad’s mom, Tina. “Not just for him, but for his pet bullfrog that lives in an aquarium out there. Chad even had a Christmas tree, with lights and decorations inside and out.”
