Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon Receives Exceptional Four Star Rating

Portland, Ore. –– The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon was recently awarded a four star rating from Charity Navigator, the largest independent evaluator of charities in America.  This organization reviews charities based on their financial management, giving donors more information about each charity’s effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.

In 2005, for each dollar raised, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon spent 84 cents on program expenses, 7 cents on administrative expenses, and 9 cents on fundraising. Receiving four stars is an honor, since less than a fourth of charities earn this rating from Charity Navigator.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  The local chapter serves children, ages 2 ½ through 17, living throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington.  For more information about the organization, please visit www.orwish.org or call the chapter office at 800-934-WISH to discover how you can share the power of a wish®.
