Adopt-A-Wish® Allows Businesses to Directly Impact a Local Wish

On March 9, many of Oregon’s jewelers gathered for their annual meeting and celebrated the “adoption” of two local wishes, including Jaedin’s wish to go on a Caribbean cruise.  Get your business involved in the Adopt-A-Wish program.

Make-A-Wish Image Walk for Wishes

Put a spring in your step and assemble a team for the 5K family-friendly Walk for Wishes. At the conclusion of the May 31 event, prizes will be awarded to the teams that raise the most money for local wishes.

Volunteers Needed

Make-A-Wish Image

The Oregon chapter relies on the help of more than 200 volunteers to help at fundraisers, grant wishes and share the Make-A-Wish message.  Currently, there is a need for Spanish-speaking volunteers.  For more information about this need and other volunteer opportunities, please click here.

Steps to Becoming a Make-A-Wish Volunteer

1. Wish granters must be 21 years of age or older. Most other volunteer opportunities require a minimum age of 18 years.

2. Visit www.orwish.org to submit a volunteer questionnaire.

3. Attend a New Volunteer Orientation.

4. Complete a volunteer application, including a background check and three references, agree to abide by the policies and guidelines of the Foundation and sign a “Conflict of Interest” statement.

5. Interview with a Make-A-Wish staff member.
